National Billiards and Snooker tournament kicks off in Bình Phước

HÀ NỘI — The first round of the National Billiards and Snooker tournament  二0 一 九 started yesterday in Bình Phước Province.

The tournament was co-organised by the Việt Nam Sports Administration and Bình Phước Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It is held to promote the celebration of  七 三 years of Việt Nam Sports Day (March  二 七,  一 九 四 六),  四 四 years of the liberation of the South of Việt Nam (April  三0,  一 九 七 五) and  四 四 years since the liberation of Bình Phước province (March  二 三).

The event includes the participation of  七00 players from  二 九 cities and provinces across the nation.

They will compete in six categories: three-cushion billiards, cushion carom, snooker  六 red-ball, English Billiards, pool nine-ball, and pool ten-ball. 

This is the first time Bình Phước has hosted a national tournament.

According to Trần Thế Anh, deputy head of Bình Phước Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “Players are true artists. In recent years, the sport is developing well in Việt Nam, with many people player, from all ages and classes. In regional and international tournaments, Việt Nam has achieved noticeable results.”
